Overall Personality: Red grew up with two different cultures shoved down his throat, Italian culture along with American culture. This affected the way he sees and responds to things in the world. His fathers strict ways, make him more of a nice loose ruled teacher, though he is angered very easily and is not afraid to implement harsh rules. Though he may blow things out of proportion and he may be confronted about it, he is not easily swayed to change his mind. He has the mind set that he is right, all the time, no matter what. There are only a few key people in his life that he will listen to when they say he is wrong. Though Red is strict, he does have a sense of humor and sometimes responds to things that would make him mad with jokes, to lighten the mood, or for the sheer fact that he is in a good mood.

Reds mother was almost the exact opposite of his father, she was very easy going and not very strict when it came to what Red would and would not do. Though she seems irresponsible she was very loving towards Red, and listened and helped him through all of his problems, she was his mother, but he also saw her as a friend. Because of the kindness and time she had given him, it gave him a sense of wanting to help people, and give them someone to talk to if needed. Working with kids has filled that need, almost everyday he would devotes part of his day to students or teachers, just trying to listen or help them through a hard time.

Red somehow almost always finds a way to put himself in a good mood, almost every day. His students rarely see him angry, but when they do they almost certainly know not to cross him again. Most of the time, if he is in a good mood when something that would anger him happens he tends to be very sarcastic and joke about it. Sometimes putting others in the spotlight, in a good, or a bad way with his jokes so he can take a few seconds to take a deep breath and move on with the day without getting angry. Red knows he can easily be angered, so he tries everything he can to prevent it.

Overall History: Red grew up in the middle of his family struggles between his mother and father. Almost everyday his parents would argue about the smallest things, causing Red to usually never be home and mostly out with friends. The other time Red didn't have to worry about the fighting between his mother and father was when he was at school(Hogwarts). Causing him to have a poor relationship with his father before he died, when Red was 16. Reds fathers death was no surprise to the family, considering he refused to go to the doctors when he was ill, and eventually lost his life to cancer. Though his father did eventually end up in the hospital the cancer was in its late stages and impossible to prevent the inevitable. Reds relationship with his father was so poor, that Red didn't even show up at his fathers funeral. Most of his family understood the reason why Red was not there, though no one had ever done anything about it, they all knew his father beat him when his was drunk or angry for one reason or another.

After his fathers death, Reds mother became more involved in his life, helping him with his problems, or just listening to him when he needed someone to talk to. After about two and a half years, Red and his mothers relationship grew stronger than ever. Every year Red goes to visit him mother in America, spending a month out of the summer with her.
